Building Self Esteem In Mothers

This page is dedicated to finding resources for building self esteem in mothers.

When do we first learn about self respect? Who teaches us our connection to the world and how to interact with everyone in it? The first face we see in this life is that of our mother. So doesn't it go to say that the self esteem she feels will be the nurturing force guiding and influencing how we grow to view ourselves? Even those of us who have never had children of our own certainly had a mother and know the impact of a strong uplifting presence over a sad and discouraged household.

Go to this article to read my first hand experience as a child living in a community where mothers were denied the most basic of maternal rights and their self esteem eroded left them defenseless to protect themselves and their own children from emotional harm. This will give you an idea of how important building self esteem in mothers is and the impact the lack of it can have on the lives of children.
